Watch out, 'Wicked' — another big Hollywood musical is coming!
Jennifer Lopez as Ingrid Luna in Kiss of the Spider Woman (2025).
Lionsgate FilmsThis fall, audiences are going to get caught in the web of the Spider Woman!
The first trailer for Oscar-winner Bill Condon's (Dreamgirls, Chicago) newest movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, is out today, and fans can't get enough!
The film takes place during Argentina's Dirty War in the 1980s, and stars Diego Luna and Tonatiuh as Valentin and Molina, two prisoners who are put in the same cell together.
Despite their vast differences, the two soon form a close connection. Molina spends time each day relaying the plot of their favorite musical to the politically-minded Valentin. Soon, Valentin is just as swept up in the world of the musical as Molina is.
Jennifer Lopez stars as actress Ingrid Luna, as well as the movie characters Aurora, and The Spider Woman! Through it all, J-Lo delivers a performance that should earn her at least an Oscar nomination.
The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and is scheduled to arrive later this year!
Keep scrolling to see standout moments from this trailer of Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is set to premiere October 10 only in theaters.
So many JLo eras in a single film!
In the film, Lopez stars as Ingrid Luna, a Golden Age movie star who played the titular Spider Woman, and it is the role she was born for! Lopez gets to dazzle in incredible costumes, wigs, and makeup, dancing and singing across the stage with the grace of a goddess. Her performance alone is worth the price of admission.
Diego Luna, what a talented and handsome man.
Fresh off his starring role in Disney+'s Andor, Diego Luna is starring as Marxist prisoner Valentin Arregui. In this film, he continues to play a political rebel, but this time, fans get to see him sing and dance!
Tonatiuh's big breakout.
Tonatiuh earned fans playing Marcos in the TV series Vida, but they're poised to become a superstar with this role in Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Playing Luis Molina, a gender-nonconforming window dresser, Tonatiuh holds his own against mighty performances by superstars Jennifer Lopez and Diego Luna and steals some of the movie's best moments.
The musical numbers? We're ready.
Kiss of the Spider Woman is based on the stage musical by Terrence McNally, with music by John Kander and Fred Ebb. With Jennifer Lopez and Tonatiuh taking the lead on songs like "She's a Woman," "Only in the Movies," and "Kiss of the Spider Woman," this is sure to be one of the biggest movie soundtracks of the year.
