Troye Sivan Is Officially a First-Time Grammy Nominee

Sivan has scored two Grammy nominations for the first time in his career!

Troye Sivan is a Grammy nominee!

The 28-year-old Australian singer has earned the first Grammy noms of his career this year, scoring nominations for his song “Rush” in the categories Best Pop Dance Recording and Best Music Video.

Sivan scored his first-ever Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Dance Recording, where his song “Rush,” off the album Something To Give Each Other, was nominated alongside “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” by David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray, “Miracle” by Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding, “Padam Padam” by Kylie Minogue, and “One in a Million” by Bebe Rexha and David Guetta.

In the Best Music Video category, Sivan will have to go up against The Beatles for “I’m Only Sleeping,” Billie Eilish for “What Was I Made For” from the Barbie soundtrack, Kendrick Lamar for “Count Me Out,” and Tyler Childers for his music video for “In Your Love.”

The “In Your Love” video stars Colton Haynes and James Scully as two coal miners in 1950s Appalachia. It’s a beautiful love story, and our favorite video of the bunch alongside Sivan’s.

“Rush” is a sexy, fast-paced song that feels like an audible version of taking poppers at the club with your friends. For the music video, Sivan brought together a bunch of sexy people to celebrate queer party culture, including hookups, poppers, drugs and alcohol, and hookups. It’s one of the sexiest videos of the year, and now, it’s being called one of the best music videos of the year by the Grammys.
