Looking for another queer show to binge? This Is Life is a brand new LGBTQ+ series that just premiered on streaming platform Tubi!

The story follows L, "a queer Afro-Latina who loses her money, her fiancée, and her will to keep chasing the LA dream," reads the press release. "She turns to her estranged brother Ori for help—unleashing a chaotic journey of chosen family, emotional healing, and creative rebirth in the heart of Hollywood."

The series is directed by Leslie Lluvet. The filmmaker also stars in the series as the main character L opposite Alvaro Orlando, who plays Ori, and was an important story for Lluvet to tell.

“This Is Life is deeply personal to me," Lluvet tells Out. "As a queer creator, I’ve lived many of the moments we explore in the show, love, heartbreak, chasing dreams, and hitting rock bottom in the city of dreams. I wanted to tell a story that’s raw, real, and reflective of what so many in the LGBTQ+ community go through, especially in a city like Los Angeles."

The show reflects the local community and was even filmed at Schmitty's bar in West Hollywood, a space "that captured the real spirit of Hollywood and everything this story stands for."

Some of the show's themes include mental health, queer survival, and the community that boots us when dreams falls apart.

"Putting this together was a journey. It took a lot of heart, hustle, and the support of people who believed in what we were building," she says. "This show is about not waiting for permission. It’s about taking ownership of your story and telling it with honesty. I hope This Is Life inspires other LGBTQ+ filmmakers to lead with courage and share their truth.”

The first three episodes ofThis is Life are available to stream right now on Tubi.
